Thank you to every one of you who made the NCHS 19-year reunion such a huge success! We all had such a great time and even though a lot of us did not see the game, the Cubbies slaughtered the Pirates 13-1 starting with a 2-run homer by Derrick Lee in the first inning! While the Cubs were beating the snot out of the Pirates, the 55 members of the NCHS Class of 1989 and their spouses and/or friends spent time reminiscing, catching up with each other, eating and drinking under the bleachers.
Believe it or not, the weather did hold out (it was a little chilly - poor Heather Annolino froze her tooshy off) and we felt a few sprinkles toward the end of the game, but all in all a lot of fun was had by all! The Cubs game was followed by a trip to Casey Moran's where we danced, drank and had more fun! We warn you that you might want to skip that trip to Chicago if you are planning on having any cocktails because we think we wiped the city out of alcohol! Thank you to Matt Doman for introducing Kristen to Vodka and Red Bull (if that’s what it really was) - you will pay for that! She won't be indulging in another one of those for a long time!
We hope that the five people who came from other states - Brad Orr and his adorable wife Mary Ann, Guy Jewett, Chris Thornton, Josh Dirksen and Audrey Burris (Ruesch) - had a safe trip back. I think we all agreed that it was worth the "trek." For everyone who we missed saying good bye to, "I hope to bump into you again soon, take care, be safe and have fun!" And as we said back in the day (I think), "Wine 'em, Dine 'em, '89 'em!" or how about, "We're so fun, we're so fine, we're the Class of '89!" We loved seeing you all - thanks again - and keep in touch!
